Emi is a lyric soprano/belter from a little town nestled among the cornfields of Northwest Indiana. She started singing about as soon as she could talk – and hasn’t stopped since!

A couple of years ago, Emi did a couple of Off-Off-Broadway shows: A Sketch of New York at the famous Producers’ Club and Mother Truckers at the Times Square Arts Center. She was most recently seen as Guenevere in Camelot at the Cumming Playhouse. Other recent roles were Sally Bowles in Cabaret at the Live Arts Theatre and the flirty, foul-mouthed Val (a.k.a. “the tits and ass girl”) in A Chorus Line.

She is most at home in the theatre, although she does well on film. Emi boasts a strong choral background and much concert experience to complement her time onstage. Favorite roles include Sally in Cabaret, Fiona in Shrek, Lily in The Secret Garden, Val in A Chorus Line, Sister Amnesia in Nunsense, Cinderella in Into the Woods, Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, Chris in Rumors, and ensemble (as well as understudied lead) roles in both Candide and Pirates of Penzance.

She performed at Star Plaza with members of the Lyric Opera of Chicago in the ensemble of La Traviata and later sang at the Piccolo Spoleto festival in Charleston with The New Music Collective. She also appeared in Americolor Opera Alliance’s original opera La Roche as Titanic passenger Edith Evans, in Irving Berlin’s White Christmas with BK Productions (dance ensemble) and the Holly Theatre (Rhoda), and in two comedic shorts at OnStage Atlanta.

You may have seen Emi honing her skills on the dance floor at swing/blues events, Dance 101, or TapMania. Her other loves include cracking people up, baking legendary oatmeal cookies, drinking tea, making terrible puns, and practicing yoga (though seldom simultaneously).
